Why FEELINGCONNECTED is so important to me?
About Pam Andrew
Co-founder of Somascience. Founder of FeelingConnected.
While Somascience provides the scientific framework, FeelingConnected is where those principles come to life through education, therapeutic practice and applied learning.
I have spent more than fifteen years exploring, developing and applying the ideas that eventually became Somascience through research, education, therapeutic practice and my own lived experience.
What I bring
Rather than specialising in one discipline, my work sits at the intersection of several.
As an educator and anthropologist, I have always been interested in understanding why the quality of our children's wellbeing has been declining—and what needs to change to reverse that trend. Those questions ultimately led to the co-development of Somascience. Grounded in both science and lived experience, it translates complex ideas into practical insights that people can apply in their everyday lives that supports meaningful change.
Why this matters
The value of Somascience is not simply in understanding the theory.
Its value lies in helping people recognise the adaptive patterns shaping their lives, develop greater somatic literacy, and build the capacity to communicate, collaborate and adapt with greater confidence, flexibility and authenticity.
That is the work I feel privileged to do every day.
The Origins of FeelingConnected
FeelingConnected began as a way of better understanding and supporting my eldest son through a difficult transition into adolescence. I could never have imagined that the questions he inspired would eventually grow into something that could help so many others.
My Values - I believe healthy communication, meaningful relationships and a genuine sense of connection are fundamental human needs. They create the conditions for learning, growth and the expression of our unique potential.
My Mission - I am committed to helping people understand how their relationship with discomfort shapes their lived experience, and to translate the principles of Somascience into practical knowledge that enables individuals, families and communities to communicate, connect and adapt more effectively.
My Vision - I envision a world where every person feels more connected—to themselves, to others and to the world around them. A world where healthier communication and stronger relationships create the conditions for people, families and communities to thrive.
Somatic literacy is a gift that last a lifetime that impacts every future life choice and relationship!
